Once enabled, this feature will literally lock a website inside its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other websites in the account will be hidden. Thus they will be shielded from further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your Internet sites updated, but it will greatly reduce the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

In case you host your Internet sites inside a shared hosting account from our firm, you'll be able to protect them by using the JailHost option with just a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is provided with all packages and can be enabled for any folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for various Internet sites do not get mixed up as it regularly happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you may use scripts that require access to folders outside the main site folder and this option may interfere with their proper functioning, but securing all the other folders is simple and easy. In case a secured site gets hacked for whatever reason, we'll be able to restore it very quickly because we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups using Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server packages and you will be able to activate it with a few clicks. It is not activated by default since we don't want to prevent some scripts that require to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You will be able to activate JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this easily even when you do not have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia manages multiple domains - they all have individual folders that can be "locked". In contrast, other well known Control Panels feature add-on domains and their content is stored in the main domain folder, so when a single website is hacked, the entire account is hacked, that isn't the case with Hepsia. In case an Internet site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we will be able to restore it the way it was without delay as we'll keep a couple of daily backups of the entire account.
