Password Protected Directories in Shared Hosting
Creating a password-protected area will take just a couple of clicks and a few seconds if you host your sites in a shared hosting account with our company. You'll not need to do anything difficult - you'll need to select a domain/subdomain, to choose which folder under it must be protected, and then to type the login name and password that'll be used to access that folder. In case a number of individuals need their own login credentials, there shall not be a problem to set up several different usernames with access to the same folder. All secured folders shall appear with a padlock icon in the File Manager section, so you will always know where this function is active. If you would like to deactivate the protection function for any folder, you can deactivate it from the same section of the CP where you have enabled it.
Password Protected Directories in Semi-dedicated Servers
It will require a couple of mouse clicks to enable the password protection function for any folder you have, in case you use one of our Linux semi-dedicated servers. We have an incredibly helpful tool, that offers a user-friendly point-and-click interface and which can be used by people with zero experience. It is a part of the Hepsia Control Panel, which you'll get to manage your new account and when you log in and visit the Password Protection section, you shall be able to choose the domain or subdomain which needs to be secured and then the specific folder - either the primary folder or any subfolder under it. You shall also see 2 boxes where you shall have to enter the login name and the password which will be necessary to access the folder in question and you shall be good to go. By following exactly the same steps, you are able to create a variety of login credentials for the exact same folder to give several people their own username/password. All secured folders shall feature a small padlock sign in the File Manager section.
